Brigadier General Samuel Yeboah Asare, the recently appointed General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Southern Command of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), paid a courtesy call on Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa, the Volta Regional Minister.
The visit, following Brigadier General Asare's induction in November 2023, aimed at fostering collaboration between the military and the regional administration.
Dr. Letsa acknowledged the Armed Forces' significant contribution to national development and praised the positive relationship between the 66 Artillery and the Regional Administration.
He commended Lieutenant Colonel J.D Ibrahim, Commander Rear of the 66 Artillery, for ensuring peace and effectively responding to emergencies in the region.
Expressing delight about the visit, Dr. Letsa welcomed Brigadier General Asare and his team to the Region, emphasizing the importance of collaboration for regional security and development.
Brigadier General Asare affirmed his commitment to working closely with the regional administration to maintain peace and security.
He highlighted his role in ensuring the region's safety, particularly in the context of potential threats and upcoming elections.
Accompanied by the Chief Operations Officer and other officers of the command, the team concluded their visit after touring Aflao and the Oti region.
