MTN Ghana empowers entrepreneurs in 21 days Y’ello Care Campaign

has kicked off the 2023 edition of the 21 Days Y’ello Care campaign in the Northern Business District in . The focus of this year’s campaign is to support youth, women, and differently-abled entrepreneurs in growing their businesses.

The 21 Days Y’ello Care Campaign is MTN’s flagship employee volunteerism initiative that aims to engage MTN staff in impactful social projects within their local communities. It takes place annually from June 1 to June 21 as a way of giving back to society through volunteerism.

Under the theme, “Empowering entrepreneurs to unlock growth and job creation for communities,” MTN volunteers will provide free services through three projects: Youth Train, Women in Action, and Differently Abled Businesses.

The Youth Entrepreneurship Train project will offer beneficiaries training in customer service, , and enterprise business solutions. The Women in Action component will focus on supporting local businesses in areas such as shea butter production, smock weaving, fish mongering, palm oil, basket weaving, and more.

Differently, Abled entrepreneurs will receive seed money to expand their businesses and will be informed about funding opportunities. Additionally, all beneficiaries will be connected to larger markets through smartphones and social media platforms.

During the campaign launch ceremony, Mr Simon Amoh, the Commercial Senior Manager for the Northern Sector of MTN operations, highlighted the importance of the initiative.

He urged MTN staff to rise to the occasion and emphasized that volunteering through Y’ello Care was a rewarding experience. He stated, “Y’ello Care symbolizes our strong commitment to walk the talk when it comes to contributing to society in a meaningful way.”

The campaign not only aims to support entrepreneurs but also raises awareness about societal issues. Over the past 16 years, MTN’s Y’ello Care has made significant contributions to vulnerable and underserved communities by providing essential resources and skills.

MTN staff members shared their memorable experiences from previous campaigns and expressed their enthusiasm for serving beneficiary communities and individuals this year.
