In a bid to enhance cybersecurity and regulate the digital space, the Cyber Security Authority (CSA) has issued a warning to cybersecurity professionals, urging them to obtain accreditation before September 30.
This directive was announced by Dr. Albert Antwi-Boasiako, the Director-General of the CSA, during the launch of the National Cyber Security Awareness Month.
As part of an ongoing effort to clean up the sector, the CSA initiated a licensing and accreditation process for cybersecurity service providers, establishments, and professionals starting in March 2023. The September 30 deadline is crucial, and failure to comply may result in the loss of the mandate to operate in the cybersecurity domain.
Dr. Antwi-Boasiako emphasized the importance of licensing and accreditation in ensuring that only authorized entities engage in legitimate cybersecurity businesses. This measure aligns with the CSA's broader goal of promoting a culture of digital safety.
The accreditation process is a significant step toward creating a secure and regulated digital environment, and cybersecurity professionals are urged to act promptly to meet the specified deadline.
