Accusations and counterclaims have emerged surrounding the delay in the call to the Ghana Bar for Elorm Ababio, popularly known as Ama Governor, with Ghanaian journalist Richard Dela Sky denying any connection to the controversy.
Ama Governor's aspiration to become a lawyer faced a setback when a complaint, allegedly filed by a “concerned citizen,” obstructed her formal admission to the Ghana Bar on Friday. The complaint, shared on social media, contends that Ama's YouTube videos have tarnished the reputation of the Ghana School of Law, and as a result, she should be barred from practising law in the country.
The document, signed off by one “Hajia Siduri,” includes a phone number that traces back to Richard Sky, prompting accusations that he played a role in sabotaging Ama's call to the bar. However, Richard Sky has vehemently denied any involvement in the matter through a Twitter post.
In his statement on Twitter, Richard clarified, “My attention has been drawn to a document in circulation in which the author has asked the General Legal Council to investigate a person said to be a student of the Ghana School of Law. To avoid doubt, the number displayed is my number, but I did not author the document in question. Also, I am not connected to anyone involved with the said document.”
Richard Sky went on to highlight that he has brought the issue to the attention of relevant authorities for appropriate redress. The tweet is dated November 10, 2022.
