The Alliance for Footsoldiers Advocacy (AFFA) has expressed strong disapproval of the recent appointment of as “Senior Presidential Advisor and Special Envoy for International Finance and Private Sector Investment.” The advocacy group contends that the appointment is counterproductive to the National Patriotic Party's () efforts to secure an eighth term in office.

While acknowledging the President's prerogative to make appointments, AFFA emphasizes the importance of exercising this power judiciously. The group highlights concerns over Ofori-Atta's performance as Finance Minister post-, describing it as questionable. Notably, he is the only Finance Minister in the Fourth Republic to receive public condemnation from MPs of his party (NPP).

The appointment, though advisory in nature, has sparked criticism from AFFA, which sees it as a disregard for the sentiments of the Ghanaian electorate. The advocacy group believes that, given the current economic challenges, appointing Ofori-Atta to this new role is akin to a “slap in the faces of the Ghanaian electorates.”

In a statement, AFFA calls on party members and sympathizers to join their cause in urging the revocation of Ken Ofori-Atta's appointment. The group argues that such a move would align with the NPP's goal of securing an eighth term, suggesting that the Ghanaian people have had enough of Ofori-Atta's involvement in economic decisions.

The advocacy group concludes by emphasizing the need for the President to heed the sentiments of the electorate to avoid complicating the campaign for the new Flagbearer and calls for the removal of Ken Ofori-Atta from his latest appointment.
