The Right Reverend Dr Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, Moderator of the General Assembly of The Presbyterian Church, has issued a call for peace ahead of the upcoming General Election.

In his Christmas and New Year message, Rev. Kwakye urged the Electoral Commission, Political Parties, and Civil Society Organisations to collaborate in fostering a peaceful electoral process.

He emphasized the vital role citizens play in maintaining the nation’s peace and called it a demonstration of the peace and love of God.

Rev. Kwakye noted the challenges faced globally, citing conflicts in Jesus’ homeland, the Russia-Ukraine War, and pockets of war and economic hardship in some communities in Ghana.

Reflecting on the essence of Christmas, he highlighted the need to embody the love that compelled God to send His Son for humanity.

He urged people to focus on rebuilding and repairing relationships with God and fellow human beings, emphasizing that these actions are central to the celebration of Christmas.

“On behalf of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, I wish the entire world a peaceful, meaningful, joyful, and Merry Christmas.

May the year 2024 bring us peace, prosperity, and fruitfulness through hard work. I pray that the Lord will guide all of us to be sons and daughters of the Prince of Peace,” Rev. Kwakye concluded.
