Nana Akufo-Addo appoints Joyce Adjoa Agyeiwaa as MCE for Birim Central Assembly

President Nana Addo Dankwa has named Ms Joyce Adjoa Agyeiwaa, an accomplished entrepreneur and business executive, as the new Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Birim Central Assembly in the . Her appointment comes following the revocation of Madam Victoria Adu's tenure a month ago, making her one of four female chief executives in the region.

This decision aligns with Article 243(1) of the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936). In a letter signed by Mr Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah, the Minister-designate for Local Government, Decentralization, and Rural Development, the Eastern Regional Coordinating Council has been tasked to collaborate with the to facilitate the confirmation process of the nominee.

Ms Agyeiwaa brings over 24 years of expertise in business development, , and wholesale distribution to her new role. She is an active member of the Akim Oda Branch of the New Patriotic Party (), with a notable track record of contributing both financial and logistical support to the party since 1992.

Throughout her tenure, Ms Agyeiwaa has collaborated closely with key figures within the party in the Akim Oda Constituency. She has actively supported the election campaigns of former Members of (MPs) from the area, including Mr Yaw Osafo-Maafo, now serving as Senior Presidential Advisor, Mr Yaw Owusu Boateng, Mr William Agyapong Quaitoo, and the current MP, Mr Alexander Akwasi Acquah, who also serves as Deputy Minister of Health-designate.
