In a surprising turn of events, New Patriotic Party (NPP) Constituency executives in Nsawam-Adoagyiri reportedly abandoned the party office on Friday morning, preventing potential parliamentary aspirant Hayford Siaw from submitting his nomination forms after completing all requirements.
Supporters of Hayford Siaw, Chief Executive of the Ghana Library Authority, who had gone to the party constituency office on December 20 to pick up nominations for him, were denied access to the forms. Subsequently, they proceeded to the Regional party headquarters in Koforidua to obtain the necessary forms.
However, on Friday, when Siaw and his supporters, including constituency youth organizers and delegates, arrived to submit their nominations, they were met with an open, empty constituency office devoid of party officials.
Despite duly notifying the Constituency party Chairman, his deputy, the secretary, the chairperson of the constituency elections committee, and members, none were present at the office to receive the forms.
Hayford Siaw expressed disappointment and described the situation as an obstruction to prevent him from participating in the parliamentary primaries. In an interview with Citi News, he asserted his determination to head to the regional party headquarters in Koforidua to submit his nomination forms.
