The Youth Organizers of the People's National Convention (PNC) and the Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP), along with the Conveners of ELECTION WATCH GHANA, have jointly called for transparency in Ghana's electoral processes.
In a statement signed by Jude Balma and Mark Ewusi Arkoh, the conveners expressed concerns over recent reports regarding the theft or disappearance of Biometric Verification registration kits (BVRs) at the Electoral Commission Headquarters. They also referenced instances of Biometric Verification Devices (BVDs) being destroyed during the District and Municipal Assembly elections held in 2023.
In light of these developments, the conveners have requested specific information from the Electoral Commission. They are seeking the serial numbers of all biometric voter registration kits intended for use in the upcoming limited voter registration exercise.
Additionally, they are asking for details regarding the corresponding registration centres. Furthermore, they have called for the inclusion of the biometric voter registration kits' serial numbers on all registration printouts during the limited voter registration for authentication purposes.
