Former President John Dramani Mahama has criticized the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) and labelled the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration as the “biggest political scam of the 4th republic.
Speaking during his “Building the Ghana We Want” tour in Nalerigu, he expressed surprise at the prospect of Ghanaians voting for the NPP in the upcoming December 7, 2024 elections, given what he perceives as the administration's monumental failure over the past seven and a half years.
Mahama's comments highlight his scepticism about the incumbent government's track record, accusing it of presiding over retrogression and a decline in the quality of life for many Ghanaians.
He urged voters to exercise their mandate wisely, suggesting that those who benefited from the administration's policies might still support the NPP. However, he asserted that the majority of Ghanaians have experienced a reversal in their fortunes under the current leadership.
