How to Start an Accounting Firm in Ghana

Are you thinking of starting your own accounting firm in Ghana? You'll require a practice license. Members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana (ICAG) who wish to acquire a practice license should fulfil the following requirements:

Be in good standing with the ICAG
At least four (4) years of practical experience and two (2) years of post-qualification experience
Referees should be members of public practice and should have worked with or supervised the applicant's work
If a member has practical experience with a foreign Accounting and Audit Firm while in a foreign country, he or she will be required to have two (2) years of practical experience with a local Accounting and Audit Firm.
Any member who has no practical experience with a foreign Accounting and Audit Firm will be required to have four (4) years of practical experience with a local Accounting and Audit firm.
