MTN Ghana, as part of its corporate social responsibility, has made a generous donation to the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Usman Nuhu Sharubutu, in honour of the Eid-ul-Fitr celebration.
The donation, comprising various food items and GH¢20,000 in cash, exemplifies MTN's commitment to supporting customers from diverse religious backgrounds and cultures. The items donated included rice, vegetable oil, mineral water, canned drinks, assorted soft drinks, and a ram.
Mr. Salihu Abu, Senior Manager for Customer Relations and Credit Management at MTN Ghana, emphasized the company's dedication to providing enhanced customer service during festive occasions. He highlighted the provision of services such as SIM change and Mobile Money registration at designated stands during the festival.
Additionally, Mr. Abu announced the opening of entries for the MTN Bright Scholarship scheme, aimed at assisting students in public tertiary and vocational institutions with their financial needs. The scholarship covers tuition, accommodation, stipend, and a laptop, with the application deadline set for May 31, 2024.
Expressing gratitude for the donation, Sheikh Usman Nuhu Sharubutu conveyed his appreciation to MTN Ghana and prayed for blessings upon the company. He emphasized the significance of charitable giving in Islam and thanked MTN for their support.
