Citi FM/Citi TV's Northern regional correspondent, Mohammed Aminu M. Alabira, faced physical assault from Member of Farouk Aliu Mahama during the New Patriotic Party's in on Saturday.

The incident occurred amid alleged ballot destruction, leading to a violent confrontation. Alabira was physically attacked and had his phone confiscated while reporting on the chaos.

Police intervened, rescuing him from further harm. One suspect has been arrested, with a manhunt ongoing for others involved in the electoral material damage. Alabira has sought medical attention, and the incident has been officially reported to the Divisional Police command.
