A by-election is currently underway in Kadjebi to select a replacement for the late Alhaji Rashid Bawa, the former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for the 2024 polls in KASEC. The candidates vying for the position are Lawyer Tapha Tassah, an Accra-based private Legal Practitioner, and Rabiu Awal, the Akan Constituency NPP Chairman.
A total of 633 delegates, comprising Constituency Executives, Council of Elders and Patrons, and Polling Station Executives, are expected to participate in the voting process. Supervising the election is the Kadjebi District Directorate of the Electoral Commission, led by Mr. Justice Odame-Frempong, the District Electoral Officer.
Providing security for the election is the District Police Command, headed by Supt. Frank Nana Asomaning, the District Police Commander. The successful conduct of this by-election is pivotal for the NPP to fill the vacancy left by the passing of Alhaji Rashid Bawa and ensure representation for the constituents of KASEC.
