Togbi Sri III, the Awoamefia of Anlo in the Volta Region, along with other paramount chiefs, has reaffirmed the Anlo Dukor Council as the paramount traditional authority in Anlo. This council includes major paramountcies from the 36 states of Anlo, such as Ave Havi, Ave Afiadenyigba, Ave Xevi (Tagba), Dzodze, and others.
Speaking at a meeting to reaffirm the council's status, Togbi Sri III emphasized the need for unity among Anlo chiefs to address modern challenges and promote social and economic development. He outlined the council's vision to foster unity, demand Anlo's fair share of national resources, and uphold traditional values.
Togbi Agbesi Awusu II, the Awadada of Anlo, highlighted the importance of embracing the council's new name, reflecting unity and common heritage among the Anlo people. Mr. Dan Abodakpi, the Awoamezitor of Anlo, emphasized the historical significance of unity in Anlo's legendary exploits.
Former Speaker of Parliament, Mr. Edward Doe Adjaho, stressed the importance of unity for Anlo's strength, while Togbi Samlafo IV, Paramount Chief of Atsyiame Traditional Area, urged all paramount chiefs to accept the Anlo Dukor Council, emphasizing its role in strengthening Anlo unity.
The reaffirmation ceremony concluded with paramount chiefs pledging allegiance to the Anlo Dukor Council, committing to defend and protect the image of Anlo Dukor in accordance with Anlo customs and traditions.
