Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey to deliver 5th-anniversary lecture for council on foreign relations

Madam , Ghana's Minister of , is scheduled to deliver a public lecture on Friday, February 2, to mark the Fifth Anniversary of the Council on Foreign Relations-Ghana (CFR-Gh). The lecture, titled “A Vision for a New in a Fast-evolving World,” will take place at the International Conference Centre.

CFR-Gh, an independent and non-partisan think tank, has a distinguished lecturer series that has featured global personalities, including Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka and UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed. Ambassador Daniel K. Osei serves as the President of CFR-Gh.

Madam Ayorkor Botchwey, a seasoned diplomat, lawyer, communications professional, and politician, has been Ghana's Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration since January 2017. She brings extensive experience in diplomacy, having served in various capacities, including as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration from 2006 to 2009.

As a four-term legislator, Madam Botchwey has been actively involved in parliamentary committees, including Communications, Gender and Children, Appointments, Defence, and Interior. She has chaired the Council of Ministers of the 15-member Economic Community of West African States () for two consecutive terms from 2020 to 2022.

The public lecture is expected to provide insights into the vision for a new Commonwealth in a rapidly changing global landscape.
