Commodore Emmanuel Ayesu Kwafo, the Two Garrison Commander of the Ghana Armed Forces, has commissioned a refurbished office and staff accommodation block for personnel at the Two Provost Detachment of the Ghana Military Police, located at the Tommy Barracks in Takoradi.
The renovation, made possible through the collaborative efforts of various partners including Ghana Gas Company, Bank of Ghana, Adamus Mining Company, Ghana Port and Harbour Authority (Takoradi), Ghana Maritime Authority (Takoradi), and Volta Aluminum Company Limited, aimed at enhancing the operational capabilities of the Two Provost Detachment.
Commodore Kwafo expressed gratitude to the contributing organizations, stating, “Your contribution to the Ghana Armed Forces is a direct one to the nation.” He emphasized the importance of maintaining the newly renovated facilities for their longevity.
Captain Monica Yiribokeya, Officer Commanding the Two Provost Detachment, highlighted the deteriorating condition of the facility, which had not seen significant renovations since its establishment in 1962.
She expressed appreciation for the support from partners, which enabled the acquisition of necessary equipment and improvements in the working environment.
Mr. Stephen Donkor, Head of Community Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at Ghana Gas Company, reiterated the company's commitment to supporting the military in working under favorable conditions and safeguarding the country from any form of aggression.
