President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has extended his New Year wishes to Ghanaians, expressing optimism about the future and urging citizens to work together for the nation’s development.
In a New Year message, President Akufo-Addo wished Ghanaians “a Happy and Prosperous 2024” and emphasized the importance of unity in achieving the country’s development aspirations.
“Even though our nation is not yet completely out of the woods, I am confident that, with hard work and determination, Ghana will make it, and, collectively, we will secure our futures,” the President stated.
As Ghana faces socio-economic challenges, the government has promised to address them in the coming year, and President Akufo-Addo reiterated his commitment to fulfilling the mandate given to him by the people.
“I remain committed to the mandate you freely gave me, and will use the last stay in my office to do all in my power to continue to help create a free and prosperous nation of opportunities,” he affirmed in his recent Christmas message to the nation.
Ghana, known for its peace and democratic governance in the West African sub-region, will undergo the 2024 General Election, testing the nation’s resilience amid growing political instability and violent extremism in neighboring countries.
The New Year in Ghana was marked by symbolic activities, including church services, New Year resolutions, and fireworks displays.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), members of the public expressed prayers and hopes for a year filled with positive developments.
