John Mahama criticizes President Akufo-Addo’s appointees’ mode of conduct

Former President has taken aim at President Nana Addo Dankwa , accusing him of disregarding his own advice to his appointees.

Mahama expressed his concern that President 's current appointees are not following the president's previous counsel to explore opportunities in the private sector for personal enrichment.

Speaking at the Academic City University College's graduation ceremony for the class of 2023, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress () cautioned those planning to enter against using their positions for selfish purposes.

He reminded them of President Akufo-Addo's past statement, saying, “If your goal into office is to enrich yourself, then don't come, go to the private sector.”

Mahama further urged the graduates not to misuse their leadership positions to victimize others or settle personal scores. Instead, he advised them to focus on serving the nation and its people, promoting competent-based staff engagement wherever they find themselves.

As the former president expressed his views, he emphasized that accountability is inevitable and that Ghanaians are demanding active citizenship rather than being mere spectators. He called on the graduates to lead with integrity and avoid the self-centered models of leadership that hinder national development.
