Former President John Dramani Mahama has reiterated his commitment to addressing the challenges facing Ghanaians once he assumes office again. The assurance was conveyed during a message delivered by Mr. Mustapha Gbande Foyo, the National Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), on behalf of Mahama.
The message was delivered during a five-hour walk organized by the Effutu Constituency Executives, in collaboration with the Central Regional Executives of the Party in Winneba. The purpose of the walk was to raise awareness about the proposed 24-hour economic policy and encourage residents to vote for Mahama and Dr. James Kofi Annan, the Effutu Parliamentary Candidate, in the upcoming December 7 elections.
Leading the walk were Prof. Richard Kofi Asiedu, the Central Regional Chairman of the NDC, Mr Gbande Foyo, and Dr Annan, accompanied by thousands of party supporters. Addressing the crowd, Mr. Foyo emphasized the importance of the upcoming election, urging voters to choose Mahama for his qualities and commitment to development.
“We are tired of harassment, intimidation, and corruption,” Mr Foyo stated, calling on Effutu residents to turn out in large numbers to support the NDC and bring about positive change in Ghana.
Prof. Asiedu urged Effutu residents to follow the example set in Assin North and vote overwhelmingly for the NDC. Dr Annan expressed gratitude to the participants for their involvement in the walk, honouring Mahama's leadership.
The event served as a platform for the NDC to rally support and emphasize its commitment to implementing policies aimed at creating jobs and fostering economic development, particularly through the proposed 24-hour economy initiative.
