Ghana surged ahead early on, courtesy of Tracy Twum's goal in the 18th minute. Ophelia Amponsah extended Ghana's lead just before halftime. Although Senegal pulled a goal back through Kande in the 53rd minute, Ghana maintained control, with Amponsah securing her brace in the 55th minute to seal the win.
In the other semifinal, Nigeria squared off against Uganda in a tightly contested encounter. After a deadlock for much of the match, Nigeria broke through with goals from Judith Adaobi Okah in the 74th minute and Chiamaka Okuchukwu in the 89th minute, clinching a 2-0 victory.
