Rev Dr. Worlanyo Mensah, an economist, and Lecturer at Wisconsin University, Accra, is set to officially declare his candidacy for the 2024 general election as an Independent Presidential Candidate on Thursday, January 25, at the University for Development Studies (UDS) Guest House in Accra.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Rev Dr Worlanyo emphasized the need for an all-inclusive government focused on industrialization, economic prosperity, transformational leadership, accountability, and discipline.
He expressed his vision to unite Ghana and bridge political divisions for national development.
“We need to build a united Ghana to bridge the sharp political divisions to achieve national development.
And as an Independent Candidate and President, I will mobilize the resources, both human and natural to make Ghana a prosperous nation,” stated the Economist.
Rev Dr Mensah identified stable but low growth rates and employment levels in Ghana's current economy.
As part of his vision, he outlined initiatives such as massive industrialization, championing the blue economy for sustainable job creation, and building resilient petrochemical and digital structures for economic growth.
Belonging to the socialist and Pan-Africanist school of thought, Rev Dr Worlanyo Mensah is also the Head Pastor of Christ Whitehouse Chapel International.
