The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has cautioned the public, particularly pensioners, against falling prey to deceitful individuals who claim to be able to assist them in collecting their benefits from the Trust.
In an official statement, SSNIT management informed the public to disregard such calls as there is no “locked-up pension balance to be collected.”
SSNIT emphasized that it has not authorized any person or group to help pensioners claim any benefits from the Trust and warned the public not to engage any such individuals or groups claiming to act on behalf of SSNIT.
“We encourage the public, especially pensioners, to report such persons to the nearest police station or SSNIT Office.”
Additionally, the Trust clarified that the processing of pension benefits is free, advising pensioners to ignore any contrary claims made by fraudulent persons.
