The Hohoe Municipal Assembly in the Volta Region has unanimously approved Mr. Francis Fiakpui as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) nominee, replacing Mr. Daniel Noble Awume. With all 25 votes cast in his favour, Mr. Fiakpui was officially sworn in by Hohoe Magistrate, Mr. John Evans Ocran.
Expressing gratitude to the Assembly for the opportunity to serve, Mr. Fiakpui outlined his vision for the municipality. He pledged to prioritize the supply of adequate, reliable, and affordable energy, as well as accelerate the provision of improved environmental sanitation facilities. Additionally, he promised to focus on creating an efficient and effective transport system, ensuring access to safe and affordable water, and bridging the equity gap in healthcare access.
Mr. Fiakpui also committed to providing life skills training, managing personal hygiene, fire safety, and addressing environmental concerns like sanitation and climate change. He emphasized collaboration with all stakeholders to mobilize resources and elevate the living standards of the municipality.
Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa, the Volta Regional Minister, commended the Assembly members for their decision and congratulated Mr. Fiakpui on his confirmation. He urged continued support and cooperation from both the Assembly members and staff.
Mr. Derek Adzoe, the Presiding Member of the Hohoe Municipal Assembly, highlighted the responsibility entrusted to them as representatives. He stressed the importance of unwavering dedication, integrity, and commitment to the community's well-being. Recognizing the Assembly's role in shaping the area's future, he emphasized the need for decisions that positively impact residents' lives.
