Mrs -Ekuful, the New Patriotic Party () Parliamentary Candidate-elect for the Ablekuma West Constituency, has pledged to secure and retain the seat for the party in the upcoming December 2024 elections. Following her landslide victory on Saturday, January 27, 2024, where she garnered 817 votes against her contender, Mr Robert Kwesi Nicole, who polled 241 votes, Mrs Owusu-Ekuful is poised to face the National Democratic Congress () 2020 Parliamentary Candidate, Reverend Kweku Addo, in the national polls.

This victory marks Mrs Owusu-Ekuful's fourth term as the Member of for the area, having won the seat three times previously. Despite a notable reduction in her vote margin in the 2020 elections compared to 2016, she remains resolute in her commitment to retaining the seat in the upcoming elections.

Addressing the media after her re-election, Mrs Owusu-Ekuful emphasized her confidence in securing the seat, expressing a focus on winning more votes for the NPP's presidential candidate, Dr , to break the eight-year cycle.

She stated, “We are retaining this seat, and we will do whatever it takes to do that. Somebody has been to parliament with three votes, so the important thing is that we are winning and we are retaining this seat, and we are winning more votes for our presidential candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, to break the eight. That, for me, is our focus. NDC is not my focus. I've beaten them three times; I will beat them again.”

Mrs Owusu-Ekuful extended a call for unity, urging her opponent, Mr Robert Kwesi Nicole, to join forces with her to ensure victory for the NPP. She emphasized that the contest was over, and it was time to work collaboratively for the party's success.

Mr Richard Ahiagba, Director of Communications of the NPP, echoed the sentiment of unity, urging both aspirants to come together and work towards securing victory for the party in the upcoming elections.
