Osagyefo Oseadeyo Dr. Agyemang Badu II, the President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs, has called upon National Security operatives to intensify efforts to bring lasting peace and tranquillity to Sampa in the Jaman North District of the region.
The call comes in the wake of a clash between supporters of two feuding factions in a protracted chieftaincy dispute, which resulted in three fatalities. In response, the Bono Regional Security Council (REGSEC) deployed a contingent of police and military personnel to restore law and order in Sampa.
During the inauguration of a durbar ground at the Nsesresu farming community in the Dormaa East District, constructed at a cost of GH¢600,000, by Nana Asamoah Kum-Twie, the chief of the area, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Badu II emphasized the importance of strict enforcement of the law by security operatives in Sampa to defuse tension.
Expressing disappointment in the government's handling of the Sampa chieftaincy dispute, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Dr. Badu II urged the chiefs and residents of the area to prioritize peace and seek an amicable resolution of the conflict. He stressed that peace was essential for development in the region and encouraged the feuding factions to resort to legal means after failed attempts at resolution by the Judicial Committee of the regional house of chiefs.
