The Prampram Traditional Council has announced the commencement of this year's ban on drumming and noise-making, starting from Friday, April 5 to Monday, May 20, 2024, within its jurisdiction. The ban coincides with the Kpeledomi Festival.
In a statement signed by Mr. Noah Nartey, Registrar of the Council, it was conveyed that the decision was made by the Paramount Chief/President, Nene Tetteh Wakah III, in consultation with Numo Lalue Larbia Ayetey Charway III.
During the ban period, which encompasses the Kpeledomi Festival, various activities are prohibited, including funerals, playing music, drumming, and any form of noise-making within the Prampram Traditional Area.
The Council urged all residents to adhere strictly to the ban to avoid any confrontations with the task force appointed to ensure compliance.
The Prampram Traditional Area includes several communities such as Prampram town, Dawhenya, Afienya, Mateheko, Mobole, Miotso, Abelkuma, Otsebleku, Abekope, Kofi Kope, Yodue/Kpor, Abia, Ataa Mensah, Osorshie, Oshiokpo, Kon, and Community 25.
