In a tragic incident, Police Constable Prince Amoah, stationed at the Enchi District Police Command, lost his life in a road accident on the Kwahu-Omanpe Road in the Aowin Municipality of the Western North Region.
The accident occurred on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, between 1200-1300 hours, when the deceased and his colleagues were on their routine patrol duty.
They were aboard a vehicle with registration number GP 2694, and while on the journey, the vehicle fell from a wooden bridge, landing in a ditch between Kwahu-Omanpe.
Three surviving personnel are currently receiving treatment at the Samartex hospital in the Wassa Amenfi West Municipality.
The deceased, Prince Amoah's body, has been deposited at the Agyapa funeral home for autopsy and preservation.
Eyewitnesses reported that some residents at the scene managed to rescue the victims and promptly rushed them to the hospital, but unfortunately, Constable Amoah did not survive.
The Police have initiated investigations to determine the cause of the accident, seeking to provide clarity on the circumstances leading to this unfortunate incident.
