The action is related to the reported theft of US$1 million, €300,000, and millions of Ghana cedis allegedly taken from her residence between July and October 2022 by her house helps.
Reports emerged on Friday, revealing that two housemaids who worked for the former minister and her husband were facing trial for the theft of large sums of money and valuable items from their home. The accused, 18-year-old Patience Botwe and 30-year-old Sarah Agyei, allegedly stole cash and various items, including clothes, handbags, perfumes, jewellery, kente cloth, and suits.
The allegations against Dapaah have drawn significant public scrutiny, leading to her resignation from her position as Sanitation Minister in July 2022.
Dapaah has questioned the reported amounts stolen, stating there are “noticeable inconsistencies” in the discussions of what she reported to the police.
