Mr Godfred Nti Anewu, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Assin Central, has demonstrated his commitment to sports development by donating football jerseys to three schools in the constituency. The beneficiary schools include Assin Nyankomasi Roman Catholic, Assin Fosu Roman Catholic, and Assin Fosu Jomsco schools.
During separate presentations, Mr Anewu emphasized the importance of sports promotion, particularly as schools gear up for inter-school competitions. He highlighted sports as a priority area for the government and encouraged students to balance their academic pursuits with participation in sports activities.
Recognizing the value of sports in fostering healthy competition, socialization, and physical fitness, Mr Anewu urged parents to support their children's involvement in sports and ensure they engage in regular exercise for overall well-being.
The headteachers of the beneficiary schools, represented by Mrs Constance Esi Murvey of Assin Nyankomasi Roman Catholic School, expressed gratitude for the donation and pledged to utilize the jerseys effectively. Students, including Master Kweku Osei and Ms. Francisca Frimpong, welcomed the gesture and expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming competitions, pledging to make the most of the new jerseys.
As the schools prepare to compete, Mr. Anewu's donation serves as a catalyst for fostering a culture of sportsmanship and excellence among the students. The initiative not only supports sports development but also reinforces the importance of peace and camaraderie during sporting events in the constituency.
