The Nkwanta South Municipal Assembly has provided financial aid to 73 individuals living with disabilities who participated in a skills training program organized by the Assembly. The training focused on imparting employable skills such as manufacturing detergent, shower gel, and liquid soap.
Mr. Felix Owusu Gyimah, the Municipal Chief Executive, highlighted that the initiative aimed to promote self-sufficiency and financial independence among the recipients. He reiterated the government's commitment to the welfare of persons with disabilities and pledged ongoing support to help them realize their potential.
Furthermore, the MCE emphasized the Assembly's commitment to monitoring the progress of the beneficiaries to ensure the success of their businesses, thereby fostering sustainable livelihoods.
Madam Sherifa Sekyere Tijani, the New Patriotic Party's Parliamentary candidate for Nkwanta South, commended the government's efforts to assist individuals with disabilities. She stressed the importance of empowering them to actively contribute to the municipality's development.
Madam Tijani pledged to prioritize the interests of persons with disabilities if elected as a Member of Parliament in the upcoming December 7, 2024, elections.
