Mr. Geoffrey Kini, Member of Parliament for Nkwanta South Constituency, partnered with the Nkwanta South Municipal Hospital, Lifetime Wells Vision NGO, and Friends of Eye Centre in Tamale to organize a free eye screening for citizens in the area.
The eye screening initiative covered ten communities in the constituency, including Kabiti, Agoufie, Nkwanta township, Pusupu, Brewaniase, Obanda, Kechiebi, Ofosu, Nyambong, and Bonakye.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr. Kini emphasized the importance of the health of the people in his constituency, stating that this initiative was part of his ongoing efforts since assuming office as MP.
Mr. Kini urged constituents to prioritize their eye health by seeking regular check-ups at health centres. He assured that the screening would not only diagnose eye problems but also provide necessary follow-up treatments, including surgeries for those with chronic conditions.
Residents who participated in the eye screening expressed gratitude to Mr. Kini and his partners, noting that the program came at a crucial time, particularly for those in need of surgical interventions.
