Henry Amponsah, known as Henry Fitz, along with two others, Edem Saviour Ketti and Candylove Kwakyewaa Ababio, have been charged with conspiracy to commit a crime involving the non-consensual sharing of intimate images of media personality Ms Serwaa Amihere. Additionally, they face two counts of sexual extortion under the Cyber Security Act, of 2020 (Act 1038).
The incident, outlined in brief facts filed at an Accra Circuit Court, began when the complainant, Ms Amihere, was informed by her makeup artist that someone had demanded GH¢5,000 in exchange for not releasing her nude pictures. The demand was made to an MTN mobile money account registered under Edem Saviour Ketti's name.
Subsequently, on April 2, 2024, another demand of GH¢20,000 was made, threatening to post nude videos of the complainant on social media if the ransom wasn't paid within a minute. Despite receiving the ransom, the perpetrator still proceeded to share the intimate images on various social media platforms.
Following the complaint filed by Ms Amihere on April 3, 2024, Edem Saviour Ketti was arrested at his hideout in Dzorwulu. During the investigation, he admitted to registering the MTN mobile money account and passing the number to Candylove Kwakyewaa Ababio, who then provided it to Henry Fitz. The number was used to exploit the complainant sexually and circulate her intimate images online.
The case remains under investigation, with efforts ongoing to apprehend Henry Fitz, who is currently at large.
