Former President and flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr John Dramani Mahama, has extended a gesture of goodwill to Muslims in Ada by donating assorted food items. The donation, which included bags of rice, bottles of oil, bags of water, biscuits, tinned fish, and other provisions, was presented to the Muslim community by the Greater Accra NDC Women's Wing on behalf of the flag bearer.
Madam Felicia Mekpoe Bortey, the Greater Accra Regional Women's Organiser, conveyed Mr Mahama's message, expressing his desire for the Muslim community to pray for his success in the upcoming general elections. She emphasized the importance of encouraging eligible youth to register to vote during the Electoral Commission's registration exercise.
Madam Bortey also underscored the NDC's commitment to addressing the hardships faced by Ghanaians, urging voters to choose change in the December polls. She highlighted the economic challenges under the current administration, contrasting them with the economic conditions during Mr Mahama's tenure as president.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of the Ada Muslim community, Mr Yakubu Sulemana, the spokesperson, thanked Mr Mahama and the women's wing for their generosity. He called for peaceful elections on December 7 and cautioned Muslim youth against engaging in activities that could tarnish the image of Islam.
