To fortify the developmental structures for youth football, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has appointed five coaches to spearhead various national teams.
The appointed coaches are Godwin Attram, Maxwell Konadu, Yaw Preko, Abdul Karim Zito, and Nurudeen Amadu.
Four of these coaches have been tasked with overseeing the newly established male national teams, comprising the U-15, U-18, U-19, and U-21 squads, aimed at nurturing young talents from grassroots levels to the national stage.
Former Medeama SC Head Coach, Yaw Preko, has been assigned to lead the national U-15 team. Preko brings a wealth of coaching experience, having worked with the Black Satellites and the national U-17 team, in addition to clubs like Great Olympics, Accra Hearts of Oak, and Nigerian side Ifeanyi Ubah.
Coach Nurudeen Amadu, currently at the helm of FC Samartex, will take charge of the national U-18 team. Known for his exceptional coaching style in the Ghana Premier League, Amadu has previously worked with the national U-17 team, Aduana Football Club, and King Faisal Babies FC.
Abdul Karim Zito, Dreams FC Head Coach, has been appointed to lead the national U-19 team. Zito, a U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) winner, boasts extensive experience with clubs like Asante Kotoko, Hearts of Oak, and Kwaebibirem FC. He secured the U-20 WAFU Championship in 2020 and followed it up with the AFCON title a year later.
Godwin Attram, the former Black Stars striker, has been entrusted with guiding the national U-21 team, while Maxwell Konadu, coach of Nsoatreman FC, will head the national U-23 team, the Black Meteors.
