Marshall Baah, the Founder of Maverick Sports Center and Agency has called on industry players and the business sector actors to invest in the Ghana Premier League (GPL).
According to him, most players in the business community have proved their countless desires and passion for football and followed up with a massive investment drive.
He noted that everything should not be left to the government and the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
Mr Baah who is also a football scout emphasized that African giants like Al Ahly, Wydad Casablanca, Esperance Tunis, and Zamalek were bankrolled by billionaires highlighting that the Ghanaian business community can emulate them by starting from home.
“One key point is that Ghana would be developed by Ghanaians, no foreign investor would push money into our football, if the business community does not show ownership, interest, and love for our beautiful game,” he stressed.
He concluded that investment in the GPL would lead to massive growth and development of the league adding that, it would help the league become one of the best in Africa as compared to the Egyptian and the South African league.
Mr Baah entreated the GFA to engage the business community on the importance of contributing their iota to help local football.
