Mr. Peter Nortsu-Kotoe, the Member of Parliament for Akatsi North Constituency in the Volta Region, has taken a significant step in supporting the education of students from his constituency. He has released funds for the payment of fees for 47 students currently studying in various tertiary institutions across the country.
As the Ranking Member on Parliament's Education Committee, Mr. Nortsu-Kotoe expressed his commitment to developing the human resource capacity of the constituency through education. He emphasized his dedication to championing sustainable support across sectors to achieve holistic development.
The support, totaling GHC158,201.52, was released from Mr. Nortsu-Kotoe's share of the Common Fund to clear the fees for the first quarter of 2024. Beneficiaries include students from prestigious institutions such as the University of Ghana, KNUST, University of Education, Winneba, University of Cape Coast, University of Media, Arts and Communication, Ho Technical University, UHAS, and Central University College. Additionally, students from Nursing Colleges at Ho and Keta, School of Hygiene in Ho, Colleges of Education at Akatsi, Peki, and Amedzofe, as well as Ohawu Agricultural College, were also included.
Mr. Nortsu-Kotoe affirmed that this gesture would extend to another 24 students in the second and third quarters of 2024. Over the years, he has been a significant contributor to the educational and human resource growth of his constituents and beyond.
