The Zoomlion Foundation has made a donation of waste bins and handwashing receptacles to Nsaba Presbyterian A & B basic schools in the Agona East District of the Central Region. The donation aims to promote environmental cleanliness and protect students from communicable diseases. Christian Ocran, the Agona West Municipal Manager of Zoomlion, highlighted that the gesture is part of the foundation's corporate social responsibility to contribute to institutional and individual development.
The handwashing receptacles are intended to instil the habit of frequent handwashing among students, emphasizing the importance of personal hygiene. Ocran stated that Zoomlion is committed to educating and motivating residents, especially school children, to raise awareness about the significance of maintaining a clean environment. He urged people to avoid indiscriminate dumping of refuse, particularly in streets, gutters, and market centres, to prevent the outbreak of diseases like cholera.
The Headteacher of Nsaba Presbyterian School, Christian Drantuo, expressed gratitude for the donation and encouraged other corporate bodies to follow suit. He highlighted the school's efforts, such as forming the Zoom Kids Club, to instil hygienic practices among students. Drantuo assured the Zoomlion Foundation that the school's management is committed to maintaining and utilizing the donated bins and handwashing receptacles effectively.
