Bolgatanga, Ghana – Vice President Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has called upon delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to recognize his contributions to the party and rally behind his candidacy as the flag bearer in the 2024 general election.
Speaking during his nationwide campaign tour in Bolgatanga, Upper East Region, Dr Bawumia appealed to the constituency, polling station executives and coordinators to reward his years of service with their votes in the upcoming NPP Presidential Primary scheduled for November 4, 2023.
Dr. Bawumia, one of the presidential candidates of the NPP, spoke of his dedication to the party and his desire to continue serving the nation.
He urged delegates to support his candidacy, pointing to the positive impact of his policies and initiatives introduced as Vice President.
During his speech, Dr Bawumia highlighted several accomplishments, including the Ghana Card, no guarantor student loans, digital address systems, mobile money interoperability, the ‘One Constituency, One Ambulance' policy, ‘Agenda 111,' Zipline drones, paperless ports, and the Zongo Development Fund.
He stressed his willingness to continue delivering such results as President.
The Vice President also noted that people from all regions of the country support his candidacy, emphasizing his track record and strong potential to help the NPP secure victory in the 2024 elections.
He defended his contributions to the party and reminded supporters of his role in the 2012 election petition at the Supreme Court.
Dr. Bawumia recounted his dedication to standing for the party at the Supreme Court, emphasizing the importance of his efforts in the successful 2016 elections. He concluded by urging the delegates to vote for him as the party's flag bearer, emphasizing his commitment to the NPP's cause.
Dr. Bawumia's nationwide campaign tour began in the Greater Accra Region and sought to mobilize support for his flagbearer aspirations within the NPP.
