In Tegbi, Anloga District, Madam Doris Adadevoh Abloh, an octogenarian, was formally outdoored as the development queen of the Saint Michael Roman Catholic Co-Cathedral Church, Keta. Bestowed with the title name Mama Michaela I, Madam Abloh’s enstoolment serves to honor her philanthropic endeavours and inspire others within the church community.
Madam Abloh’s journey to becoming the development queen commenced in 2015 when she was identified as one of the highest donors towards the church’s anniversary celebration. Following a series of voting processes, she emerged as the highest donor, earning her the prestigious title of development queen in recognition of her benevolent contributions.
During the ceremony, Most Rev Gabriel Edoe Kumodjie, Bishop of Keta-Akatsi Dioceses, formally presented Mama Michaela to esteemed families within the Anlo community and subsequently to traditional authorities. Togbi Zewu IV, representing the Anlo Traditional Council, warmly received the new queen, affirming her role as a development queen for the entire Anlo community and encouraging her to continue her altruistic endeavours.
Expressing her gratitude, Mama Michaela pledged to persist in her acts of kindness and availability to serve her community. She emphasized the importance of making wise choices in life, particularly for the benefit of future generations.
Among Mama Michaela’s notable philanthropic works is the establishment of a modern Library and Information and Communication Technology center for Our Lady of Apostles (OLA) R.C. Convent Basic school in Keta, alongside donations to the St. Michael Cathedral at Keta.
The ceremony drew distinguished guests, including Mr. Victor Gbeho, former Member of Parliament for Anlo and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prof. Ernest Kwaku Dumor, former Electoral Commissioner, and other esteemed personalities from the region.
