Mr John Anim Peprah, the Dormaa Area Head of the Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo), has advised the public to engage directly with NEDCo officials for meter acquisition and other services, bypassing middlemen. Speaking during an interview with the media in Dormaa-Ahenkro, Dormaa Central Municipality, Bono Region, Mr Peprah emphasized the importance of utilizing approved channels to ensure transparency and efficiency in the process.
Mr. Peprah expressed satisfaction with the progress of NEDCo's mass revenue mobilization exercise, highlighting significant contributions made during the first three days. He reported that on the first day, NEDCo mobilized GH¢ 91,000.00, followed by GH¢ 92,000.00 on the second day.
Providing details of contributions on the third day, Mr Peprah noted the commitment shown by locally operated institutions and companies in settling their debts. The Presbyterian Nursing Training School settled a debt of GH¢ 12,000.00, while the Dormaa Presbyterian Hospital made a payment of GH¢ 20,000.00 towards its GH¢ 2.8 million debt.
Other contributors included St. Charles Farms, which paid GH¢ 30,000.00 out of a GH¢ 88,000.00 debt, Kusi Farms with GH¢ 20,000.00 out of GH¢ 40,000.00, and Gyamfi Poultry Farms clearing its entire debt of GH¢ 85,000.00. Additionally, the Adama Musah Dry Mill settled its total debt of GH¢ 19,000.00, while a residential home at Kumikrom near Dormaa-Ahenkro, paid GH¢ 2000.00 for power supply.
Mr. Peprah's advice to deal directly with NEDCo officials aims to streamline processes and prevent unnecessary complications that may arise from involving middlemen. The success of NEDCo's revenue mobilization exercise demonstrates the commitment of both the company and its customers to ensure efficient service delivery and financial sustainability in the energy sector.
