The late Osahene Major Kojo Boakye-Djan (Rtd), the former spokesperson of the Armed Forces Revolutionary Council (AFRC), will be laid to rest on January 26, 2024.
The burial ceremony will take place at the forecourt of the State House in Accra, followed by the interment at the military cemetery in the Burma Camp.
Godfred Boakye-Djan, nephew of the late Major Boakye-Djan, and Press Secretary to the Abrohene Family, confirmed the arrangements, stating, “The body would be laid in state at the forecourt of the State House in Accra for viewing and burial service.”
Major Boakye-Djan passed away at the age of 81 on August 30, 2023, at the 37 Military Hospital.
He had a multifaceted career, serving as a journalist with the Daily Graphic and Ghanaian Times and later becoming the Company Commander of the 5th Battalion of Infantry before the June 4, 1979, coup d'état in Ghana.
