The former Assembly Member of Teberebie Electoral Area, Manasseh Addison Sackey, fondly known as “Teacher Obour,” has been laid to rest in a solemn ceremony at Dagbala in the . The emotional event gathered hundreds of mourners, including family, friends, and constituents, to bid farewell to the deceased assembly member.

Manasseh Addison Sackey tragically drowned in the Bonsa River on December 5, 2023, at the age of 36, while on a campaign tour to seek a second term in office. Despite this unfortunate incident, Sackey emerged victorious in the election, securing 860 of the total valid votes. The public expressed shock and sadness at the untimely demise of the dedicated assembly member.

The funeral ceremony, held on Saturday, February 3, 2024, brought the community to a standstill as tributes were shared by family members, the public, and various organizations with which Sackey was associated. Tears flowed freely as parents, his wife, and colleagues from Mount Olivet Methodist Church, Mile 8 Society, Youth Development Ministry, Diocese, and the (National Democratic Congress) paid their respects.

Reverend Benjamin Oppong, the Diocesan Youth Organiser, officiated the ceremony, focusing on scripture readings from Revelations 7:9-17 and Matthew 25:1-13. The theme of the service was “God has given you a second chance to repent.” Rev. Oppong emphasized the need for a righteous life and urged attendees to put God first in everything.

During the intercessory prayer, Rev. Oppong sought comfort for Sackey's immediate family, constituents, and the entire Municipality. The late assembly member, born on December 23, 1987, had an impressive educational background, having attended Methodist School nursery school, Quayson Junior High School, Tarkwa Senior High School, Komanda College of Education, and the University of Education, .

Manasseh Addison Sackey, who was on the verge of completing his master's degree in education and business administration, left a lasting impact as the headmaster of Abompuniso M/A Basic School and a dedicated member of the Methodist church. The funeral ceremony served as a poignant tribute to a respected community leader whose contributions will be remembered by many.
