Mr. Duke Aaron Sasu, the Youth Leader of the Movement for Change, a new political movement in Ghana, has called upon Ghanaian youth, particularly those in tertiary institutions, to embrace the ideals and vision of the movement. Speaking at the inauguration of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) chapter of the movement, Mr. Sasu emphasized the importance of the “Great Transformational Plan,” a development agenda aimed at improving the socio-economic fortunes of the nation.
The Movement for Change, founded by Mr. Allan Kyerematen, former Minister for Trade and Industry, seeks to propel Ghana towards accelerated growth through efficient management of human and natural resources. Mr. Sasu highlighted the pivotal role of the youth in this transformational agenda and urged them to rally behind Mr. Kyerematen's leadership for the nation's benefit.
With Mr. Kyerematen set to contest in the upcoming presidential race, the movement aims to break the dominance of traditional political parties in Ghana's political landscape, citing their failure to address the nation's long-standing economic challenges. Mr. Sasu stressed the need for Ghanaians to embrace a new leadership paradigm for sustainable growth and development.
Furthermore, Mr. Sasu outlined the movement's strategy to establish a strong presence in universities, including upcoming inaugurations at the University of Cape Coast and University of Education, Winneba. He called upon the youth to familiarize themselves with the founder's Great Transformational Plan (GTP) and serve as ambassadors for change.
The Movement for Change envisions a future where Ghana harnesses its abundant resources to create opportunities for job creation and wealth generation, ultimately alleviating poverty and fostering national prosperity.
