Education Ministry donates 21 vehicles to Colleges of Education and TUTAG

The Ministry of Education, with support from the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), has donated 21 brand-new Toyota Land Cruiser vehicles to Colleges of Education and the Technical University Teachers Association of Ghana (TUTAG).

The vehicles were handed over at a brief ceremony held at the premises of the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) on Friday, December 19, 2025. The donation was carried out through GTEC.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, said the donation was aimed at promoting efficiency and effectiveness in the Colleges of Education and demonstrating government’s commitment to improving the welfare of teachers.

The beneficiary Colleges of Education are Accra College of Education, Ada College of Education, Akatsi College of Education, Al-Faruq College of Education, Bagabaga College of Education, Berekum College of Education, Enchi College of Education, Foso College of Education, Holy Child College of Education, Jasikan College of Education, NJA College of Education, Offinso College of Education, Ola College of Education, Presbyterian Women’s College of Education, SDA College of Education Asokore-Koforidua, St. John Bosco College of Education, St. Vincent College of Education, Tamale College of Education, Tumu College of Education and Wesley College of Education.

In addition to the 20 Colleges of Education, one vehicle was presented to the Technical University Teachers Association of Ghana (TUTAG).

    How much did the cars cost? Who were they bought from? Was the purchase subject to an open tender? Was this car purchase included in the budget passed by parliament? This is the way Ghana’s resources are squandered in thin air. By refraining from addressing these issues, the Standard undermines its role and integrity.
