Interior Ministry begins online aptitude tests for 2025/26 security services recruitment

The Ministry of the Interior has announced the commencement of the online aptitude test phase for the 2025/26 Centralised Services E-Recruitment Portal (C-SERP), marking a key step in the ongoing recruitment into Ghana’s security services.

According to the Ministry, the aptitude test will be conducted entirely online and will apply to applicants seeking enlistment into the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Prisons Service, Ghana National Fire Service, and Ghana Immigration Service.

Candidates are expected to take the examination using a computer equipped with a functional webcam and microphone to enable effective online monitoring.

Applicants have been grouped into three categories. Category A comprises NVTI, JHS, sportsmen, and other certificate holders, who will answer 30 questions and subsequently undergo a trade test based on their selected vacancies.

Categories B and C, which include HND, degree, master’s degree, and WASSCE applicants, will answer 60 questions each. The pass mark for all categories has been set at 65 percent.

The aptitude test is scheduled to run from Tuesday, 10 February to Sunday, 22 February 2026. Category A applicants will take their test between 10 and 13 February, followed by Category B applicants from 14 to 17 February.

Category C applicants are expected to sit the test from 18 to 22 February. Applicants are required to log into their individual portals within their assigned periods to access the test link. The Ministry has also indicated that SMS notifications will be sent to qualified applicants to confirm their test schedules.

To safeguard the credibility of the process, the online test will be conducted under enhanced AI-based proctoring. Before starting the examination, candidates will undergo an enrolment process to verify identity, calibrate webcam functionality, and assess internet strength and surrounding noise levels.

Throughout the test, candidates are required to maintain proper posture and keep their faces aligned within the proctoring frame. The system will record sessions and take random snapshots to detect any form of malpractice.

The Ministry has stressed that once the test begins, it cannot be paused, saved, or restarted, and will be automatically submitted when the allotted time elapses. Any attempt at impersonation or external assistance will attract sanctions.

Applicants have been advised to ensure stable internet connectivity and comply strictly with all guidelines to avoid disqualification. The Ministry of the Interior reiterated its commitment to a transparent, fair, and merit-based recruitment process and encouraged all candidates to prepare adequately for the examination.
