The Black Queens, Ghana's national women's football team, have secured the 4th position in the latest FIFA Women's national team rankings for Africa.
This places Ghana behind Nigeria, Morocco, and South Africa, the latter having made a remarkable start in the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.
Despite their prominent standing in the African rankings, the Black Queens have experienced a slight dip in the global rankings, currently positioned at 61st.
This marks a drop of two places from their previous standing.
The year began with Ghana holding the 3rd position in the Africa rankings and the 59th spot globally. The recent rankings indicate a slight decline for the Black Queens, ending the year one place lower in the African standings and two places down globally.
Under the leadership of head coach Nora Hauptle, the Black Queens have enjoyed a highly successful year in 2023. They emerged as the team with the most victories, the longest winning streak, and the fewest goals conceded.
Throughout the year, Nora Hauptle's squad netted an impressive 34 goals in just 11 matches while conceding a mere 2 goals. Their exceptional performance included a remarkable winning streak of 10 consecutive victories, concluding the year with only one defeat.
Thanks and please carry on the rewarding work.
