Accompanied by national and regional executives, members of Parliament, parliamentary aspirants, and party faithful, Mr. Mahama expressed condolences and mourned the loss of the esteemed paramount chief.
Addressing attendees at the final funeral rites, Mr. Mahama praised the strong relationship between the late chief and the NDC. He highlighted the enduring bond that spanned administrations from former President Jerry John Rawlings through his own tenure until Nana Nkrawiri's passing.
Reflecting on their relationship, Mr. Mahama recalled Nana Nkrawiri's appointments to various positions, including Chairman of the Board of Community Water and Sanitation by late President Rawlings and chairmanship of the regional Lands Commission, emphasizing his contributions to the NDC.
Mr. Mahama lamented the neglect of road projects initiated in the Municipality during the late paramount chief's era since the NDC left office approximately eight years ago. He pledged to address and complete all abandoned road projects once the NDC assumed office in 2025, expressing confidence in the party's ability to secure victory in the upcoming 2024 elections.
