The final match, held at the Accra Lawn Tennis Club, concluded with Dzidzornu winning 4-0, 0-4, 10-7.
In the U-14 category, Ghana‘s tennis talent Jeffrey Frimpong emerged victorious, triumphing over Winneba-based Michael Nyarko with a scoreline of 4-1, 1-4, 4-2.
The girls’ event witnessed a fierce competition where the No.2 seed Witnney Orimdoye claimed victory by defeating the top seed Grace Tetteh with a score of 5-4.
In the girls’ U-14 category, Georgette Nortey from Osu-based School emerged as the winner by defeating Philipina Sewornu with a scoreline of 4-1, 4-2.
The U-16 category turned into a family affair as Mbongta Awantang triumphed over her sister Bei-neh Awantang with a score of 4-1, 4-0.
Michael Nortey, the tournament organizer, expressed his satisfaction with the well-organized fourth edition, stating, “I am happy we have been able to organize the fourth edition very well.
I thank all the winners.” He also hinted at bigger plans for the upcoming 5th edition of the Sydney Katz Open, promising an even more significant event.
