The North African sporting giant showcased exceptional performances in swimming, armwrestling, and table tennis, solidifying their position as one of the continent's sporting powerhouses.
Nigeria secured the second spot on the medal table with 121 medals, followed by South Africa in third place with 106 medals and Algeria in fourth place with 114 medals. Tunisia rounded up the top five with 86 medals.
Ghana made history with a sixth-place finish, achieving its best performance in the history of the African Games since its inception in 1965. The country won a total of 68 medals, with armwrestling contributing significantly by delivering 41 medals, including eight gold, 19 silver, and 14 bronze medals. Strong performances in boxing, football, athletics, weightlifting, taekwondo, swimming, hockey, and volleyball also contributed to Ghana's success.
Other notable performances came from Morocco, Ethiopia, Mauritius, and Kenya, completing the top 10 teams on the medal table with 34, 22, 25, and 35 medals respectively.
